Sheila Blow studied piano with David Parkhouse while reading for a Maths degree at University College London. After teaching Maths for a while, she decided to concentrate on teaching the piano. Over the years she has had students ranging in age from 6 to 87. Sheila's accompanying work includes playing for opera rehearsals and with solo singers and instrumentalists.

Sheila is interested in the therapeutic power of music and has witnessed its effects in the course of many visits to perform in hospitals, nursing homes and day centres.  Recently Sheila has founded Chamber Music for Charities through which she performs at charity concerts with gifted young musicians without any cost to the charity concerned.
